Morning           City tour of Mumbai

Beginning with a photo stop at the Gateway of India. Dominating the quayside and erected by the British, it commemorates the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. Journey through the business districts of south Mumbai, passing by monuments built during the British era including the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai University and the High Court to Churchgate Station, to see the amazing Dabbawalas in action. Next take the local train to Mahalakshmi Station and walk to Dhobi Ghat, a huge open-air laundry. Return to the city centre and drive past the 'Queen's Necklace' section of Marine Drive to Mani Bhavan, former residence of Mahatma Gandhi and the focal point of his political activity between 1917 and 1934.

Enjoy two jungle safaris in Kanha National Park today. Steeped in natural beauty and home to tigers, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, jungle cats and a plethora of birds, Kanha is almost unrivalled for wildlife watching. As you drive through the heart of the jungle through golden meadows, grasslands and dense forest look out for those elusive stripes slinking through the undergrowth and have your camera ready!

Day 5                     Kanha

Morning           Continue your journey to Bandhavgarh

(Distance approx 220 Kms / approx 4.5 Hrs) where the rest of the day is yours.

Bandhavgarh Afternoon         Arrive at Bandhavgarh, check in at the resort

Bandhavgarh, named after an ancient fort in the area, was once a hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa. Another famous tiger hot spot, the park comprises steep ridges, undulating forest and open meadows. Bandhavgarh was once known to have a population of white tigers which have sadly not made an appearance in fifty years; however it is home to a dense population of beautiful Bengal tigers and a large population of leopards.

Day 6                     Bandhavgarh 

Morning           Jungle Safari

After Safari, return to the resort for Breakfast

Afternoon        Jungle Safari

Today is dedicated to wildlife spotting in Bandhavgarh. Absorb the fabulous Indian countryside as your knowledgeable guide tracks tigers, elephants and other wildlife. Listen out for woodpeckers, and watch for egrets, hornbills, kingfishers,; as well as mischievous langur monkeys.

Day 7                     Bandhavgarh  Morning          

Jungle Safari

After Safari, return to the resort for Breakfast

Soak up the jungle atmosphere this morning before heading to Khajuraho.

Morning           Sightseeing of Khajuraho

See some of India's finest architecture as you tour Khajuraho's famous temples. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city's temples are often referred to as one of the seven wonders of India and are they country's largest collection of medieval Hindu and Jain temples. Visit the eastern and western groups of temples. Constructed in sandstone using precise joints without mortar, the temples are held in place by gravity and feature spectacular carvings.

Day 9                     Khajuraho

Morning           Depart Khajuraho for Jhansi, visiting Orchha en route Orchha's fort complex is home of the magnificent Jehangir Mahal and Raj Mahal Palaces and fourteen memorials to the rulers of Orchha.

Next, board Taj Express from Jhansi to Agra

Day 10                     Agra               

Early morning  Visit Taj Mahal by sunrise (Closed on Fridays)

Today, look forward to another highlight - your visit to the Taj Mahal. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, this remarkable edifice was commissioned by Shahjahan as a memorial to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Taking 22 years to build and completed in 1653, its breathtaking marble-inlaid interiors are a shrine to the emperor's passion and contain both his and his beloved's mausoleum.

Check out and Visit Agra Fort

Leave for Gurgaon (near Delhi).
