Day 1

Arrival and transfer to ecolodge locate at the base of the Western Ghats (90 minutes’ drive).

Rest for the day

Evening guided trail within the campus looking for frogs, snakes and caecilians.  The focus is to locate the Hump-nosed Pit Viper

Retire early; stay at ecolodge.

 

Day 2

Morning trail to the lateritic plateau to look for Saw-scaled vipers continuing on the forest trail for other species

Early dinner followed by walking trail around the campus continuing to the BMWLS

Stay at ecolodge.

Day 3

Morning trail in Mollem area of BMWLS

Evening trail in Tambdi Surla area continuing into night trail

Stay at ecolodge.

 

Day 4

Post breakfast transfer to Chorla Ghats (90 minutes’ drive )

Check in into a comfortable nature resort

Herping in the surrounding forest

Evening Herping in the plateau areas of the Mhadei wildlife Sanctuary

Stay in the Chorla Ghats - ecolodge

 

Day 5

Post breakfast the herping begins continuing till lunch

Evening walking trail

Early dinner followed by night trail for exploring the herpetofauna

Stay in the Chorla Ghats - ecolodge

 

Day 6

end of time in Mountains & Jungle - transfer to resort near beach to unwind.

& relax!

Nature Walks

Relaxed walks for everyone who wish to spend time being at one with nature. River walks through forest rivers, Canopy Climbs up the tree tops and Days exploring the forests. Nature walk through the forests of the Western Ghats in Goa is an opportunity to witness the untamed wonders of nature at close quarters. Some of the snake species found here include hump nosed pit vipers, common kraits, king cobras, spectacled cobras, wolf snakes, keelbacks, shieldtails, vine snakes and more.

 

Wildlife Safari

Wildlife Safaris in this region of Goa are an awesome opportunity to explore the wild side of Goa.   If luck is on your side, you may also spot a major carnivore like Leopard or Black Panther. Sloth Bears are also seen at times. Locals in the forest often report seeing a tiger as well. Walking safaris in the forests of the Western Ghats are a wonderful experience - as they rank as one of the 18 most biodiverse regions on the planet. You may also opt for additional walking trails to enjoy sights of butterflies, arthropods, birds, reptiles and other fauna. Climb on tree-top machans and watch towers to look at the forest from a bird’s eye view. Your patient wait atop a watch tower may yield you a sighting of a major mammal while they are busy quenching their thirst.
